Obituary of Jorge Carlos "JC" Navarro-Kaufmann
We Praise God in announcing that Jorge Carlos Navarro-Kaufmann passed into the arms of his Savior in the early morning hours of December 6th, 2024, surrounded by family and loved ones. He left this world broken and was finally restored to wholeness in the presence of God.
JC was born in Lima, Peru the 2nd of 6 children to parents Baltazar and Jenny. He immigrated to the United States in 1967 and quickly began the hustle that launched several careers, a family of 7, and a ministry that would impact the lives of many and would come to define his Earthly legacy as a charismatic, beloved, and highly effective individual in his family and community.
A born storyteller, JC loved to hold court among family and friends, recounting stories from the escapades of his youth and embellishing liberally for the chance of an extra laugh.
He was a Pastor, small business owner, executive, volunteer fireman, deejay, saltwater fisherman, political activist, and deep-sea certified scuba diver. Above everything however, he was a beloved husband, father, brother, son, uncle and friend to so very many. He realized one of his greatest callings as a Pastor in the early 2000s, leading and participating in several missions trips to Latin America planting churches and ministering in Peru, Chile, Dominican Republic, Panama, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica.
His empathy and passion were particularly on display when ministering to people’s physical and spiritual needs on these trips and over the course of several visits, developing and nurturing impactful relationships that would last decades.
JC was a member of Evangel Chapel Assembly of God in Bridgewater for over 40 years where he was very proud to be a licensed Federal Prison Chaplain, active in their Prison Ministry. And later, he was appointed as the Pastor of their Spanish-speaking congregation.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara; as well as 5 children Cristina (Stephen), JC (Holly), Monica (Chris), Cecilia, and Tony (Rose); 14 grandchildren Alexander, Olivia, Eliana, Isabella, Madeleine, Gabriella, JC, Ava, Eli, Grant, Ignacio, Isaiah, Evelyn, and Abigail; as well as his four loving siblings - Guillermo, Martha, Enrique, and Jenny and dozens of adoring nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Tito.
