Dear Cucucho,
Primo, you’ve been such a light in my life—always so full of love, kindness, and warmth. Your presence has touched so many hearts, and I feel incredibly lucky to be one of those people.
As I reflect on all the times we’ve shared, I am filled with gratitude for the laughter, the support, and the deep bond we’ve built. You've taught me what it means to be strong, to face challenges with grace, and to hold on to hope even in the toughest of times.
Though words feel so small in moments like this, please know that I love you deeply and that you will always hold a special place in my heart. You are more than family to me—you’re a true inspiration. I’ll carry your spirit with me always, and the memories of you will live on, filling my heart with peace and love.
Thank you for being you, and for all the moments, big and small, that I’ll cherish forever.

JC and Peter K coordinated a mission trip to Lima Peru. JC asked Rita and I to participate so we went with a team of about 15 Evangel Chapel church members. We did mostly street ministries and home prayer groups in shanty towns.
JC asked me to go with him to a maximum security prison to preach the Good News. We were in a courtyard filled with over 100 prisoners, other prisoners and guards also heard us from their cells adjacent to the courtyard. JC gave his “famous” black glove visual presentation followed by his message. With JC translating, I also gave a visual presentation using rice and then my testimony. JC then did an altar call and all the prisoners and guards in the courtyard and even some in their cells accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
We (the team) all thought we were blessing others but we were the ones who were humbled and blessed.

To my lovely uncle JORGE,
First I want to thank God for the change that we have to be all together. Then I want to thank you Tio Jorge about some things that made me write this letter. Thank you for all your kindness, wisdom, charisma, being empathetic, warm, and lovely. Thank you for all your knowledge, and the fact that you want your family to believe in GOD. Thank for all the daily devotionals that analyze some verse from the Holy Bible and explain them with examples from real life day by day. I have them all backed up. Thank you for the weekly prayer meetings that we had for more than 5 years. You decided to make an effort and give priority leading this valuable task. As a matter of fact, I have to be honest, a pretty big percent of my decision to accept God as my Lord and Savior was because obviously Jesus the channel was you Uncle Jorge, I appreciate so much.
I know you do realize that now your brain can't communicate in the way you want, but trust me your eyes transfer all that your heart wants to say. Thank you for being an example for all of us regarding being grateful, joining us in praise and glory only God. Thanks for being open to listen to every opinion and way of thinking and always giving clever advice from your side.
I will end this letter with 3 highlights for you:
1. Surround yourself with people whose eyes light up when they see you coming.
2. Slowly is the fastest way to get to where you want to be, so keep your own pace Tio.
3. The top of one mountain is the bottom of the next, SO KEEP CLIMBING.
We won't let you go Tio, we will support you in this stage of your life. For instance, you are the most prepared and confident about GOD's timeline.
I love you Tio and see you in the near future. No worries if it is Newark or Lima. God bless you, and I will pray for your health. It's too much in my belief to ask Jesus for a miracle. Because the miracle for me is to have you by my side all these years.
Thank you, with honest and true love.

I met JC upon my arrival to Bridgewater, NJ to serve as Children’s Pastor. The position was part time. The church had a house for us to live in, but I would need to pay my own utilities, and in those early days received no salary. The house was nice, but we couldn’t eat it so I needed a job fast. Within days of my arrival came the offer. I would work a lot of nights with JC in those days. Cleaning schools and offices, stripping and sealing floors, and there would be some odd jobs at his home and others. I know he needed an employee, but it would quickly become evident that he was also looking out for me and my family. There would be heat in our home, and food on our table.
During some of those nights there would also be conversations as we worked. Some of them were spiritual, but many were about family and life. I will always be grateful for his investment in me. I know he will be remembered by many as a pastor, and for public ministry. However, for me JC will always be remembered as a man who looked out for me. He didn’t have to do that, but I’ll never forget it. Well done, JC. Well done.

Our youth group would have a "rent a teen" missions fundraiser every year at the church. I was not allowed to take his daughter on a date so I planned to "rent a teen" (his teenage daughter) so I could take her to dinner one Friday night. What a perfect plan! I was all prepared to bid and outwit the "old man." Much to my surprise, he showed up that night! AND his wallet had WAYYYY more money in it than mine did. The bidding started and it was going well. I outlasted the first bidder and it looked like I was in the clear! Then another voice spoke up. Oh no, it was him! He was now bidding against me and he was raising the limit by large sums. Now understand, most teens were rented for $25-$50 for a couple hours. They might be asked to wash windows, wash a car, pull weeds. Nothing really major and no large sums of money. Until now. $35, $50, $60, $80. Good grief, it was at $80 and I was hoping he would stop bidding and let me win for $80. But no. He was toying with me. A brief silence and I thought it was over, but then......... then, his voice shouted out......... $250!!! Oh man......... are you kidding me?? I didn't have that much money. The wiser "old man" won. I bowed my head in defeat. Well played Mr. Navarro. Well played. Thanks for your life and your lessons to all of us teens in the church back then. We love you.

Pastor JC was such an encouragement to me and my family, always willing to listen and pray. He had such an unwavering trust in the Lord and a genuine love from the Lord toward others. I’m forever grateful for his prayers for my family, especially for our son, when he was battling an addiction. His strong faith and love for him helped me to remain strong in mine. Loved him and thankful we will see him again one glorious day!❤️

Q: What will you never forget about Jorge?
A: I had the privilege of being JC’s friend for 37 years. For 31 of them I was also his pastor. During that time I saw God to a lot of wonderful things in him and through him. If I could create the ideal church member it would be JC. He had so many wonderful qualities. He was loving, faithful, serving, giving and praying. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do, and whatever it was, he did it with a willing heart and great attitude. If I could count on anybody, I could always count on JC. He was constantly looking for ways to minister and to reach people for Christ. When we started our Spanish outreach, JC jumped right in to translate and help and eventually served as the pastor of our Hispanic congregation. Since retiring as his pastor I have thought of him frequently, prayed for him often and missed him always. I can’t wait to see him again in heaven. In the meantime, my heart goes out to his loving wife and co-laborer Barbara, and their children and grandchildren. The Navarro family holds a special place in my heart and memories.

We are so sorry for your loss and we wish to offer you our deepest condolences. May the Lord comfort you during this time and we are so blessed that we will see Pastor JC again in heaven where he is walking the streets of gold. Pastor JC truly left an impact in my heart that I will never forget . One memory that stands out is when he taught in his prayer time and worship that the Lord wants us to not survive but thrive. This is a truth and so much more that he imparted into my heart that I will always treasure in my heart. He always had a smile on his face and He truly had the joy of the Lord as his strength . I thank the Lord for what a blessing he has been to our family and countless others . We love you and may the Lord comfort you and bless your family to overflowing! Love in Christ , Nelson & Natalia Seda Psalm 46:10
