Hillsborough, NJ – Joan Alfiero, 91, died April 19, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Morristown, NJ on August 26, 1924 to her dear parents, Maria Scinto and Rafael Petrone. Joan married Frank in 1950 and they stayed married until his death in 2003.

Joan raised (4) children while working as an Executive Secretary for many years, retiring from AT&T in the late '80's. Joan had a beautiful heart and a kind spirit. She was beloved by her family and friends and had an infectious laugh and a keen sense of humor. She endured 10 years of Alzheimer's with and grace and dignity.

Joan is survived by her loving children, Frank Alfiero (Nancy) of CT, Karen Soriano (Tom) of Raritan, Susan Roberts (William) of Clinton, and Lisa Parker (Larry) of FL; a dear brother, Ralph Petrone of Morristown; a loving sister, Grace Ianiro of Lake Worth, FL; four adoring grandchildren, Michelle Zambrano (Manuel), William Roberts, Jeffrey Roberts, and Elizabeth Alfiero; two cherished great-grandsons, Gabriel and Joshua Zambrano; along with many nieces and nephews.

Visitation, Wednesday, April 27, 2016, 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Bongiovi Funeral Home, 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ 08869, (908-725-1887).

Funeral Services, Thursday, April 28, 2016, visitation 8:30 to 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass at St. Ann's Church, 45 Anderson Street, Raritan, NJ 08869.

Burial, St. Teresa Cemetery, Summit, NJ.
