Obituary of Paolo Dentici

Paolo (Paul) Dentici, age 82 years of Bridgewater, New Jersey, died peacefully at home on Thursday, January 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on May 25, 1942 in Santa Flavia, Siciily, Italy then later moved to Porticello, Sicily, Italy.

Son of the late Salvatore Dentici and La Barbera Maria Dentici.

Paolo served in the Italian army. Worked in Sicily and Germany as a mason.

In 1969, Paolo moved to the United States to seek opportunity.

He worked for GAF in South Bound Brook, NJ and later worked for Jafco Industries in Middlesex, NJ.

In 1970, he met his wife Josephine and got married on July 3, 1971.  They were married for 53 years and were inseparable, soulmates.

Paolo loved music, especially Elvis Presley, dancing, and enjoyed traveling with his family, going to the movies, and trips to Atlantic City.

Nonno enjoyed working in the garden and teaching his grandson how to plant all the vegetables.

Paul was an amazing, loving, caring husband, and a fantastic father to his daughters.

Paolo cherished and adored his grandchildren very much.  They would go to the park and then for ice cream.

He was kind, loving, never refusing any family member or friend to give a helping hand.

Paul was also a proud member of The Somerville Elks Lodge #1068 for 32 years.

Paolo is survived by his beloved wife Josephine, two loving daughters, Maria Dentici and Annemarie Dentici-Gammon, two grandchildren, Massimiliano and Siena, a sister Rose Virruso in Sicily, Italy and a sister Maria Lo Medico in Sicily, Italy, a brother-in-law Cosmo DeFina (Sheri) in San Antonio, Texas and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Paolo was predeceased in deaath by his father, Salvatore Dentici, his mother Maria La Barbera Dentici, his father-in-law Domenico DeFina and his mother-in-law Annamaria Raschella DeFina.

A Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 11 AM, Catholic Church of St. Ann, 45 Anderson Street, Raritan, NJ.  Entombment immediately following at St, Bernard Mausoleum, 550 Route 28, Bridgewater, NJ.
