Obituary of Fred Minni

Please share a memory of Fred to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Fred was born on Mary 23, 1923 in the Bronx, New York to Josephine and Natalia. He had one brother, Benjamin who predeceased him. Fred was a good student in school; he liked to run and won many medals in that field. He was very competitive. He attended Evanderchild's High School and then attended college. He was an altar boy at Immaculate Conception Church. Fred began working for his uncle as a hairdresser. He then went to Atlas Beauty School in the Bronx and went on to become manager of the school. Fred also worked for House of Tiara, a beauty shop in Greenwich Village where many of his clients were in show business. Fred was always ready to help people. If a client could not pay him, he often offered his services for free. Fred's best friend was Carmine. They spent much time together, going back to their school days. One evening Fred and Carmine attended a dance at the Ballroom in Roseland in Manhattan. Fred was a good dancer. Carmela also happened to be there. Carmela fainted, Carmine and Fred carried her to a room where she could rest. And as the saying goes, the rest is history. Fred and Carmela married and had two daughters, Joanne who is married to Matt and Michele whose husband passed. They have five grandchildren, Tara, Kiely, Dean, Zachary and Dylan. When Fred and Carmela married, they went moved to Jersey City and lived with Carmela's parents. When her parents died, they sold the house and moved to Rahway. Fred was very close to his granddaughter, Tara and she wanted me to let you know that he pushed her to follow her dreams in the medical field. Carmine related that Fred was a handsome man, a good dresser, well put together. He always took care of himself and always stayed in shape. However, Fred was not just look good on the outside, but was a extraordinary person on the inside. He was a true and honest man. Fred and Carmela along with Carmine and his wife _______ spend a lot of time together. They went to Broadway shows, did things together with their families, had good times together and made some wonderful memories with each other. Carmine along with his son and Fred, began to manage and promote professional fighters. They traveled all over the world doing this. Fred loved boxing as well as the track. Both Fred and Carmine belonged to the Lamb's Club which was a professional theatrical club for those in show business and business. They saw many actors and actresses perform there. Fred helped some of them in his hair dressing career. Fred and Carmela took their children to the shore. However, their favorite vacations were the cruises that they took together. For their 50th anniversary they took a cruise on an Italian cruise ship. They were married for 61 years. Fred passed on March 21, 2016 . A wise man once said, what you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what you have woven into the lives of others. Fred left behind many beautiful tapestries.
