Obituary of Alvina "Bobby" Orecchio
Raritan Borough – Alvina "Bobby" Orecchio, beloved wife & mother , 93, of Raritan Borough passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 17, 1930, Cook County, Chicago, IL. She was the daughter of the late Bernice & James McCluskey.
Bobby was a devoted wife, mother, grandma, Nonnie, aunt and a wonderful friend to many. She was a kind and loving person who was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Bobby and her husband John were blessed with 76 years of marriage until John’s passing in 2022.
She is survived by her son Robert Orecchio (Ellyce), Hillsboro daughter Mary McNutt (Tom), Wilmington, NC son Charles Orecchio (Jill), Kintnersville, PA., her cherished grandchildren – Dwayne (Jennifer)Orecchio, Jason (Joy) McNutt, Adam McNutt (Ann), Zachary (Theresa) Orecchio, Chase Orecchio and her great-grandchildren Samantha, Danielle, Kendra, Caden, Tristan, Theoden. Becket & Kole and many loving nieces and nephews.
Bobby was an avid card player, baker, homemaker, and volunteer. Her meatballs were a favorite of family and friends, where Sunday dinner always found an extra friend or two at the table.
Bobby and her husband John enjoyed traveling and cruising the world well into their 80’s and 90’s. Some of the places they traveled to were – Italy, France, Turkey, England, Ireland, Poland, Russia, St. Martin, Aruba, Panama Canal, Martinique, Canada and many more.
Bobby worked for the Bridgewater-Raritan school district. She was a member of the Alter Rosary Society, a communicant of the Catholic Church of St. Ann in Raritan, NJ and a member of the Raritan Golden Age Club. One of Bobby’s favorite events was St. Ann’s Festa where she was a volunteer preparing and cooking food for several years.
Visitation will be held from 3:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at the Bongiovi Funeral Home 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ (908) 725-1887. Funeral services Friday, December 1, 2023 beginning with a visitation from 9:00am to 10:15am at the funeral home followed by an 11:00am Funeral Mass at the Catholic Church of St. Ann 45 Anderson Street, Raritan, NJ. Interment at St. Bernard Cemetery, Bridgewater, NJ.
