Obituary of William D Peebles, Jr.

Raritan NJ- 

William Dayton Peebles Jr, age 75, died peacefully on Tuesday October 3, 2023 at home in Raritan Borough NJ.

William was born in Somerville NJ on September 24, 1948, to his loving parents the late Georgina (Gustuvsan) and William Peebles Sr.

William worked for many years as a computer analyst.  He loved life and appreciated every day living freely.   William was proud of his service to his country and served honorably in the United States Navy and Naval Reserves during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Sante Moretti VFW Post 1748 of Raritan NJ.  He was known to many as a quick witted and funny man who enjoyed fishing. William enjoyed being with his family and friends and he had a soft spot in his heart for animals.  He enjoyed good food, candy, sharing stories and television programs such as M.A.S.H reruns, Rawhide, Gun Smoke and other old TV shows.  He especially liked watching “Svengoli” every Saturday Night at 8pm.   William loved listening to oldies on the radio while driving his favorite car, his Camaro. William touched many hearts during his lifetime, and he will be missed by all who knew him. 

William is survived by his loving niece Christine Peebles and sister-in-law Frances Peebles. 

William was predeceased by his wife Georgia Marinaro and his parents.

A Memorial Service will take place on Thursday October 12, 2023, between 4:00pm and 7:00pm at Bongiovi Funeral Home 416 Bell Avenue Raritan NJ 908-725-1887.
