BRIDGEWATER-  Genoveffa Mirra, 86, died on Thursday, September 22, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on October 1, 1936 in the Comune Di Capriglia Irpina, Avellino, Italy to the late Gaetana and Antonio Sasso.

Genoveffa came to the United States in June of 1955.  In 1957, she attended an Italian concert and met the love of her life Giuseppe Mirra and they married in 1960.  Together they raised their 4 boys residing as a family in Bound Brook, Piscataway, Warren and when they retired, they moved to Bridgewater.  Devoted to her faith Genoveffa would pray the rosary daily.  She was a parishioner of St. Ann Church in Raritan and a member of the Rosary Altar Society.  Genoveffa enjoyed cooking for her family, friends and especially her grandchildren.  She was a loving wife, mother, nonna (grandmother), and bisnonna (great grandmother) who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Genoveffa is survived by her beloved husband Giuseppe, loving children Vincent (April), Joseph (Susan), Neal (Regina), and Anthony (Michelle), cherished grandchildren James (Nicole), Ryan, Jake, Madison and Andrew, adored great granddaughter Marissa, a brother Aniello, her sisters Felicia and Antonietta, a brother-in-law Mario.  She is predeceased by her parents and her siblings Gaetano, Nunzio and Maria.

In lieu of flowers donations should be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Dementia Society of America.
