SOMERVILLE – Helayne Camella, 76, died on Friday, August 25, 2023 at her home.  She was born to the late Henrietta and William Mooney in Wilkes Barre, PA.

Helayne was a graduate of Plymouth High School in Plymouth, Pennsylvania.  She resided in New Jersey for over 50 years and retired from the Somerset County Clerk’s office after 20 years. Helayne’s main priority, above all else, was her loving family.  Helayne enjoyed listening to music, dancing, and watching her favorite TV shows.  She loved traveling to the Jersey shore.  She looked forward yearly to going to Stone Harbor with her family and throughout the year to the casino. Helayne had the opportunity to visit Philadelphia when Pope Francis made his historic visit to the city.   Helayne will be remembered as a social, fun loving and glamorous woman.  She was the life of every party.

Helayne was a communicant of St. Anne’s Church when she resided in Raritan.  After 20 years, she moved to Hillsborough and then to Somerville. 

Helayne is survived by her beloved husband of 30 years Joseph, loving daughters Mary McCann (Michael), Carolyn Flora, Michele Castellani, Dawn Wessler (Mike) and Wendy Camella, cherished grandchildren Anthony, Sean, Amy, Mitchell, Maria, Emily and Kiera and her adored great grandson Mikey, a brother William Mooney, Jr. (Michelle).
