Loretta M. Basilone Obituary

RARITAN-  Loretta M. Basilone, 94, died on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at her home.  She was born to the late Helen and William Mansfield on February 7, 1929.


Loretta was born and raised in Raritan, NJ.  In 1949, she married the love of her life Alphonse Basilone.  Together they raised their family of 3 children.  Loretta was an avid reader.  She enjoyed cooking for the family and especially hosting holiday dinners.  She truly loved spending time with her family at home and on family vacations.  Dedicated to her faith, she prayed the rosary daily and was devoted to the Blessed Mother. Loretta was a parishioner of the Church of St. Ann in Raritan, NJ. All who knew her will remember her gentle smile.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great- great grandmother who will be sadly missed.


Loretta is survived by her beloved children Kathy Eisen (Jerry), Linda Irwin and Bill Basilone, loving grandchildren Jerry Lee Eisen, Angie Young, Greg Irwin, Krista Gallant and Tommy Irwin, cherished great grandchildren Erik Irwin, Tony Irwin, Lauren Eisen, Gavin Gallant, Makenzie Irwin, Caraline Irwin, Evangeline Ortiz, Thomas Irwin, Justine Craig and Britney Young and her great great grandchildren Ella Irwin and Madison Irwin.  She is predeceased by her husband Alphonse, her parents and a son-in-law Hal Irwin.


Funeral services are private.
