Obituary of Rose T. Jacobs
RARITAN- Rose T. Jacobs, age 98, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on March 20, 2023. She was born May 5, 1924 in Raritan to Dominick and Maria Russo. She married the love of her life, Jack Jacobs, when he was home on leave from the Army in December of 1945.
Rose was a devoted mother and grandmother. She treasured her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was the friend everyone wanted to have. She always made sure anyone visiting had plenty to eat and enjoyed a cup of coffee or tea. Rose was an avid pinochle player. Her family loved laughing, singing, and dancing with her.
Rose was a lifelong parishioner of St. Ann Church in Raritan where she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society. She was an employee of Sears for 30 years, and a volunteer for Deborah Hospital. Rose was so loved and respected in her community that she was asked to be a Freeholder.
She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Jack Jacobs, her parents, Maria and Dominick Russo, her brothers Joseph and his wife Winnie, John, Frank and his wife Sophie, and her sisters Santa Donnelon, and Grace Grillo and her husband Joseph.
Rose is survived by her son and his wife, Eric and Patricia Jacobs of Raritan, her daughter and her husband, Mary and Dennis Stack of Somerville, her grandchildren Jennifer and Anthony Giudice, Dennis Stack and Danielle Nicotra, Marianne Jacobs and Matthew Miller, Melissa and John Baranello, and Danielle Stack and Adrian Amaya Moody, four great grandchildren Gabriella, Ethan, Preston, and Lennon, her nieces and nephews, and all those she touched deeply.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, March 26, 2023 from 2:00pm to 6:00 pm at the Bongiovi Funeral Home, 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ (908) 725-1887. Viewing will take place on Monday March 27, 2023 from 9:15am to 10:15am at the funeral home followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 am at St. Ann Church, 45 Anderson Street Raritan, NJ.
