Obituary of Vittoria Cichello

Bridgewater, NJ

Victoria (D’Urzo) Cichello, age 72, died on March 6, 2023 surrounded by her family.  Born November 29, 1950, in Sant O’nofrio, Italy, to the late Basilio and Marianna “Riga” D’Urzo.

Vickie and her family came to the U.S. in 1955. She spent most of her life in Somerville until moving to Bridgewater in 1998.

Vickie worked for 10 years at Somerset Medical Center. She found her true passion when she began an in-home daycare where she loved all the children like her own. Vickie showed her love through cooking, baking, keeping a pristine home, shopping for her grandchildren, and caring for her family. She treasured spending time with her grandchildren and was always there for them when needed. She also loved taking long walks with the kids, sitting by the pool in the summer, and outings to her favorite places.

She is survived by her beloved husband Paul, children Paula (Chris) Zumas, Tammy (Robert) Miller, and Lisa (Michael) Powell, her 6 grandchildren Nicholas, Julianna, Lyla, Addison, Jack, Lucas, sister Nicolina Palko (Daniel), brother Anthony D’Urzo (Patricia), brother-in-law Paul Plank and many nieces/nephews.

Vickie was predeceased by her parents, her sister Marianna Rosa Plank, and brother Antonio D’Urzo.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023, from 5:00-8:00PM and Friday, March 10, 2023, from 9:00-10:15AM at Bongiovi Funeral Home, 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ 08869 (908) 725-1887, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00AM, at Immaculate Conception Church, Somerville, NJ.  Entombment will be in St. Bernard Cemetery, Bridgewater, NJ.  To send an on-line condolence please visit www.bongiovifuneralhome.com.
