Joan Resch, Beloved Wife, Mother, and Friend

Mrs. Joan Resch of Middlesex, New Jersey passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023 surrounded by her devoted husband Tom of 61 years, loving children Cindy and Marc, and daughter-in-law Sunny.

Joan was born on August 22, 1940 in Somerville, New Jersey, grew up in Middlesex, attended Bound Brook High School and worked at American Cyanamid before relocating to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina with her Marine husband.

Joan returned home to her roots in Middlesex and played a leading role in the family bakery business. She is still known today by many as the “Cookie Lady” for all the treats she eagerly gave away to the children. Joan was active in the community and local sports organizations, and was the Super Team Mom for the Middlesex Little League. She continued to act in a motherly role for countless local and military friends by offering her home, cooking delicious meals, and providing love and support.  Her vivacious personality and caring nature touched so many.

Joannie loved going to the movies and holding hands with her high school sweetheart husband for the duration, no matter how long. She was very passionate about the TV game show Jeopardy and appreciated the friendly competition with her family. She also enjoyed going out to local restaurants to savor a nice dinner and converse and laugh with friends and community members. It was always a special time when Joannie was around! Most of all, she cherished her home and was certainly the queen of her castle.

At Joan’s request, there will just be an intimate service for the immediate family members.
