Ruben J. Malaret, Sr. 90 died June 30, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 19, 1931 in Puerto Rico to his beloved parents Juanita Gonzalez and Jose Malaret.

Ruben is survived by his loving wife Maria Davila Malaret of 60 years, a son Ruben, a daughter Aida Ortiz (Rico), sisters Miriam and Aracelis, 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and his mother-in-law Cecilia Davila.

He was pre-deceased by his daughter “Marisol” a brother, and a grandson “Vinny”.

Ruben was employed as a jeweler at Meldon’s in Brooklyn, NY. He loved to cook, was funny, fixing cars, and playing his guitar.  He was a devoted husband. Father, papi and great papi.

Viewing will be held on Sunday, July 10, from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm, at the Bongiovi Funeral Home, 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ (908) 725-1887. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 11, 2022 at the funeral home, with visitation starting at 11:00 am followed by a service at 12:00 pm. Entombment will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge, NJ.
