Obituary of Nellie I. Spera

RARITAN-   Nellie I. Spera, 86, died on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at her home.  She was born on May 13, 1935 in Elizabeth, NJ to the late Vally and Sylvester Conrad, Sr. 

Nellie married the love of her life, James, on August 4 1956.  Together they raised their 4 children.  She was employed as a Store Activities Representative “STAR”, working with children and fundraiser’s for the McDonald’s Corporation.  In her spare time, Nellie enjoyed collecting Dolls. She shared her lifelong collection with all she knew by showcasing them in her home.  She also enjoyed ceramics.  Above all, Nellie dedicated her life to her husband, children and grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. 

Nellie is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years James Spera, her loving children James Conway-Spera and spouse Dr. Andrew Conway-Spera, Deborah Antonelli and spouse Luigi Antonelli, Joseph Spera and partner Patricia Marciano and Paul Spera and spouse Cathy Spera, 7 cherished grandchildren Krista St, Cyr, Joseph Spera, Jamie Spera, Matthew Spera, Liana Antonelli, John Spera and Nolan Spera, 2 sisters Laura Hosely and Ida Angiola and her dear caretaker Irina Makaridze.  She is predeceased by her parents and 9 siblings Charles, Sylvester, Joseph, Henry, Frank, Beatrice Malinowski, Gertrude Osmulski,  Joan Corbisiero and Mary Conrad.

Visitation from 4:00pm to 7:00pm Monday, March 7, 2022 at the Bongiovi Funeral Home 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ (908) 725-1887.  Funeral services Tuesday, March 8, 2022 beginning with a visitation from 8:30am to 9:30am at the funeral home followed by 10:00am Funeral Mass at St. Ann Church 45 Anderson Street, Raritan, NJ.  Entombment at Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway, NJ.
