Obituary of Stephen P. Tarpey
White House Station- Stephen P. Tarpey, 76, died Thursday, January 20, 2022. He was born on August 21, 1945 in Plainfield, NJ.
Stephen was a graduate of Plainfield High School. Dedicated to his country he served in the Air force for 4 years. He was President of the Kayak Club where he met the love of his life, Bernadette. Stephen began his career as a technician for NJ Bell telephone company and retired after 50 years from Verizon. In his spare time, he enjoyed going on cruises, walking in the park, working on computers, doing yardwork, music and was known to be a great dancer. Stephen loved his dogs. He will be sadly missed by his all who knew him.
Stephen is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years Bernadette, his sisters Maureen Naya and Saran Bielabitz, a brother-in-law Nick Angelo, his nieces Lisa and Richard Goldring, Eileen and Ed Rayon, his nephews Stephen Naya, Christopher and Sarah Naya, John Naya and Michael Arcuri, his great nieces and nephews Joseph Goldring, Emily Goldring and Allison Goldring and his dog Reece. He is predeceased by his parents and a brother Thomas.
Visitation from 4:00pm to 8:00pm Friday, January 28, 2022 at the Bongiovi Funeral Home 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ (908) 725-1887. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 29, 2022 beginning with a visitation from 10:00am to 11:00am followed by a Prayer Service 11:00am at the funeral home.
