Raritan, NJ – Bernadette Frances Medick, 95, died January 24, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Plainfield, NJ on September 22, 1920 to Caroline B. Paoli and Francis A. Mealey. She graduated Plainfield High School in 1938 and Muhlenberg Hospital School of Nursing in 1942.

Bernadette was a Registered Nurse for U.S. Public Health Marine Hospital during the War (1943-1947), Ashbrook Nursing Home, and Abbot Manor. She was a former member of the St. Bernard's Rosarian Society in Plainfield NJ, Muhlenberg Alumni Association, and South Plainfield Senior Citizens. She actively volunteered in Plainfield NJ in areas of Religious Education for Special Needs Children at St. Bernard's Church and at the Christmas Bureau supplying toys to the underprivileged children. Bernadette was a kind, caring, generous person, and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Bernadette is survived by her loving children, Debra Romano of New Pt. Richie FL, Cheryl and her husband Joseph Martino of Bridgewater NJ; two dear sisters, Elizabeth White and Virginia Cassinis; seven wonderful grandchildren, Michael (Medick) Wang and his wife Anne, Jill (Medick) Kelly and her husband Aaron, Joseph Martino, Tara Martino, Deidre Martino, Steven Romano, Corrine Romano; and five great-grandchildren, Elliot, Dezmond, Lucy, Luca, and Malcolm. She was predeceased by beloved husband, Edgar L. Medick (October 20, 1995); and her son, James Medick (August 29, 1979).

Funeral Services, Wednesday, January 27, 2016, viewing 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Religious Services at 11:30 am at the funeral home.

Burial, Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains, NJ.
