Obituary of Ann M. Emmons

BRANCHBURG-           Ann M. Emmons, 81, died on Thursday, February 4, 2021.  She was born on February 9, 1939 to the late Carmella and Pasquale Grillo in Plainfield, NJ. 

Ann, known to many as Nonnie, was raised in Plainfield and lived in Dunellen, Middlesex and Green Brook.  She married Robert, “Bob”, in 1969 before moving to Branchburg in 1989.  They loved each other unconditionally, laughed loud and often, and shared an amazing life together. Ann was a chef and bookkeeper for Kerwin’s Tavern in Middlesex, NJ.  She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 306.  She enjoyed cooking and baking.  She was an extremely caring and compassionate woman who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Her favorite pastime was playing cards with her aunt, cousin, and their families. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. 

Ann is survived by her loving son Samuel Emmons, a daughter Mary Johnston and husband Gary, four cherished grandchildren Corin, Carly, Tyler and Colton, and adored nieces and nephew Julianne, Dominic and Nicole, dear brothers Salvatore Grillo and Pasquale and wife Rosalind.  She is predeceased by her husband Robert who died in 2006 and her parents.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
