Obituary of Mario A. Sofia

BRDIGEWATER- Mario Sofia 59, died on Saturday, December 28, 2019. He was born in Somerville, New Jersey to his parents, Angela (Ritorto) Sofia and the late Giovanni Sofia, who both immigrated from Italy. Mario is survived by his brother John and wife Suzanne Sofia of Ramsey, NJ and Sister Leah Sofia DeVito of Kintnersville, PA. Mario has two nieces Kimberly and Deena that totally adored him and four nephews Alex, Vincent, Matthew and Kevin that cared Immensely for him. Mario was very generous and loving with all his family and friends especially Robert Ellis and Anthony Natale who were like brothers to him. Mario also loved his pets beyond measure Bobby the Cat and Copper the dog. Mario was also a lover of collectibles and antiques. He could always be found at a flea market or yard sale on the hunt for his next treasure. Mario worked as a self- employed master carpenter and his work was impeccable. Viewing is Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm and Friday, January 3, 2020 from 8:30am to 9:15am at the Bongiovi Funeral Home 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ (908) 725-1887. Funeral Mass, Friday, January 3, 2020 at 10:00am at St. Bernard RC Church, Bridgewater, NJ, followed by an interment at St. Bernard Cemetery, Bridgewater, NJ.
