Obituary of Carmella M. Ruffa

SCOTCH PLAINS-         Carmella M. Ruffa (nee Perrotti), 92, died on Friday, November 16, 2018 at the Heritage Rehabilitation Center in Edison, NJ surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on May 21, 1926 in Bernardsville, NJ to the late Pasqualina (nee Mastrobattista) and Giovanni Perrotti.

Carmella was born and raised in Bernardsville, NJ, resided in Raritan before moving to Scotch Plains in 1964.  She was a graduate of Bernards High School Class of 1944.  After the war, she worked at the Belle Mead Quartermaster Corps (US Army) and it was there Carmella met her true love Gregory Ruffa of Raritan, NJ.  They were married on June 27, 1948 and together they raised three children.  Carmella was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed by family and friends.

Carmella is survived by her beloved husband of 70 years Gregory J. Ruffa, loving children Carol Conway, Linda Ruffa and Gregory James Ruffa, cherished grandchildren Kevin Conway, Lauren Conway, Stephen Pellegrino and Andrew Pellegrino.  She was predeceased by her parents, 2 sisters Mary Rodick and Rose Ascolese and 3 brothers James, Pasquale “Patrick” and Anthony.

Viewing will be Monday, November 19, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.   A funeral mass will be 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at St. Ann Church 45 Anderson Street, Raritan, NJ followed by a burial at St. Bernard Cemetery, Bridgewater, NJ.

In lieu of flowers it the wishes of the family that donations may be made in Carmella’s memory to the American Heart Association 300 5^th Avenue, Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02451 or to one of choice.
