Obituary of Rosario Ciurleo

Somerville:

Rosario Ciurleo, 97, died Tuesday, September 18, 2018 from complications of pneumonia at Bridgeway Care and Rehabilitation Center in Hillsborough, NJ.  He was born in Maropati Calabria, Italy to his beloved parents, Catena (Gagliardi) and Dominic Ciurleo.    He served his country honorably in the United States Army and is a Veteran of World War II.  Rosario retired from Supreme Fur Dressing Co. as a Furrier.  In his spare time, he enjoyed art and was involved in the Somerville Senior Art Club.  Rosario enjoyed art shows, oil painting, and photography.  Rosario was a devoted husband, father and dear grandfather.

Rosario is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Lillian, his daughters Carol Palko (George), Nancy Tsotakos (Lou), cherished grandchildren, Gregory, Jennifer, Lauren and Ben.

Rosario was pre-deceased by his parents Catena and Dominic, his brother Dominic and sister Clara Wilson.

Viewing will be held on Sunday, September 23, 2018 from 4-8pm, and Monday, September 24, 2018 from 10 – 11am at the Bongiovi Funeral Home – 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ, (908)725-1887,

Funeral Mass will be held Monday, September 24, 2018, 12pm at Immaculate Conception Church, 35 Mountain Avenue, Somerville, NJ.

Burial will be at St. Bernard’s Mausoleum following the funeral Mass.
