Joan Charnetski, 85, died June 5, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 5, 1931 in Wilkes Barre, PA to her dear parents Helen Dressel and William Schrode, Sr. and resided in the borough of Raritan for the past 58 years.

Joan was a 1949 graduate of GAR Memorial High School in Wilkes Barre, PA. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Okinite Company before becoming a devoted wife and homemaker for 59 years. Joan was also a loving mother and grandmother, who enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and was passionate about her flower gardening and interior decorating. She was a kind and caring person, and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Joan is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Leo R. Charnetski, her cherished son, James (Oxana) Charnetski, her loving daughter Susan (Dave) Mathews, six beautiful grandchildren, Christie, Valerie, Corey, and Sophia Charnetski and Derek and Dylan Mathews, a dear sister-in-law, Mary Schrode, and former daughter-in-law, Rosalia Charnetski. She was predeceased by her parents, a brother, William Schrode Jr., and one sister Helen Holak.
