Obituary of Salvatore Passalacqua

Flemington NJ

Salvatore Passalacqua, age 68, died at home in Flemington NJ on Saturday July 29, 2023.  He was born on July 25, 1955 in Carini Sicily to his dear parents the late Marianna (Frisella) and Vincenzo Passalacqua.

Salvatore immigrated to the United States in 1970 with his parents and his brother Frank and settled in Flemington NJ.  He later lived in Raritan Borough and in 1980 he moved back to Flemington where he would call home for the next 43 years.  He was a huge soccer fan and rooted for his favorite Italian Club team Inter with great passion.  He loved everything about the sport of soccer, playing and watching games.  Salvatore was also a big Nascar fan and enjoyed the many trips he took to Daytona to watch the Daytona 500 race. Football was another passion of his and he rooted for his New York Giants.  Salvatore at an early age got into the family business of making pizza and would become the owner of Dominick’s Pizza in Flemington NJ.  Upon his retirement from Dominick’s Pizza he continued his love of making pizza at the Shoprite in Flemington NJ.  Salvatore loved his Italian heritage and enjoyed reading the news and sports in the Italian newspaper.  He was a quiet and reserved man who loved his family with all his heart.  He was a loving father to his two daughters, a loving brother, a loving uncle and a friend to many.  He will be missed by all who knew him.

Salvatore is survived by his loving daughters Maryann Vastino (son in law Jonathan) of Clinton NJ and Josephine Mannato (son in law Justin) of Jamison Pa and the joy of his life his grandson Justin Jr.  He is also survived by his brother who he cherished Francesco “Frank” Passalacqua of Berkeley Heights NJ and his niece Daniela Passalacqua and nephew Frank Passalacqua. 

Salvatore was predeceased by his parents Marianna and Vincenzo Passalacqua.

A visitation will take place on Thursday August 3, 2023, between 4:00pm and 8:00pm at the Bongiovi Funeral Home 416 Bell Avenue Raritan NJ 908-725-1887.   Burial will be private.
