On February 22, 2026, at 7:15 p.m., Marcelo German Pérez Altamirano, 65, passed away peacefully at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital with his loving and devoted wife by his side.


Marcelo was born on November 18, 1960, in Ambato. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend.


He is survived by his father, Livorio Pérez; his beloved wife, Elsa Ximena Martinez Brito; his daughter, Diana Marcela, and her daughters, Sofia Isabella and Emma Victoria; his two sons, Danny German and Cristian Leonardo; and his five siblings, Edwin Gustavo, Carlos Ivan, Mauricio Livorio, Juan Pablo, and Paulina Elizabeth. He also leaves behind many cherished nephews and nieces whom he loved dearly.


Marcelo was preceded in death by his mother, Delia Angelica, and his brother, Ruben.


An avid athlete and passionate Ecua-voly enthusiast, Marcelo built lasting friendships and earned the respect of many through his love of sports. He will be remembered for his quick wit and humor, his dedication and resourcefulness, and his wisdom and sound judgment. His presence brought strength, laughter, and guidance to all who knew him.


A viewing service will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bongiovi Funeral Home, 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ 08869.


Marcelo’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

El 22 de febrero de 2026, a las 7:15 p.m., Marcelo Germán Pérez Altamirano, de 65 años, falleció en paz en el Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, acompañado por su amada y fiel esposa.


Marcelo nació el 18 de noviembre de 1960 en Ambato, Ecuador. Fue un esposo, padre, abuelo, hijo, hermano, tío y amigo ejemplar.


Le sobreviven su padre, Livorio Pérez; su querida esposa, Elsa Ximena Martinez Brito; su hija, Diana Marcela, y sus nietas, Sofia Isabella y Emma Victoria; sus dos hijos, Danny Germán y Cristian Leonardo; así como sus cinco hermanos: Edwin Gustavo, Carlos Iván, Mauricio Livorio, Juan Pablo y Paulina Elizabeth. También deja a numerosos sobrinos y sobrinas, a quienes amó profundamente y por quienes siempre se preocupó.


Fue precedido en la muerte por su madre, Delia Angélica, y su hermano, Rubén.


Apasionado deportista y gran aficionado del ecuavóley, Marcelo ganó el respeto y la amistad de muchos gracias a su amor por el deporte. Será recordado por su agudeza y buen sentido del humor, por su dedicación y capacidad de resolver cualquier situación, y por su sabiduría y buen juicio. Su presencia fue fuente de fortaleza, alegría y guía para todos los que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo.


El velorio se llevará a cabo el viernes 27 de febrero de 2026, de 6:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m., en Bongiovi Funeral Home, ubicado en 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ 08869.
