Mary R. Rina, 87, of Raritan, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 4, 2025.
Born on April 7, 1938, in Dunmore, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Margaret (née DiMura) and Carmen Magnotta. Mary was raised in Dunmore before settling in Raritan, where she resided for over 60 years.
She worked for many years in the tax office in Bridgewater, NJ, and, together with her beloved husband Rosario “Sal” Rina, raised two daughters, Margaret and Susan. A devout Catholic, Mary was deeply devoted to her faith and was known for walking daily to the Shrine.
She enjoyed shopping, going out to lunch with family and friends, arranging flowers, taking long walks, and, most of all, spending time with her cherished family and grandchildren. Cooking for her loved ones brought her great joy.
Mary is survived by her loving daughters, Margaret C. Rina Hayes (fiancé Joseph Wulff, Jr.) and Susan Keenan (husband John); her adored grandchildren, Christopher Michael Hayes, Caitlyn Keenan, Alyssa Smith (husband Jared), and Johnny Keenan; her sister Connie Nilson; sisters-in-law Mary DeGhetto and Rosie Waterman; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Rosario "Sal" Rina, her parents, her brother Carmen Magnotta, Jr., and her sister Louise D'Amato.
Mary will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Bongiovi Funeral Home, 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM at the Catholic Church of St. Ann, 45 Anderson Street, Raritan, NJ.
Entombment will take place immediately afterward at St. Bernard Cemetery and Mausoleum, 551 Route 28, Bridgewater, NJ.
