Nicanor S. Tiongson, 86, passed away peacefully at his home on July 26, 2025.
He was born on August 7, 1938, in the Philippines to his parents, Purificacion (nee San Pedro) and Gonzalo Tiongson.
Nicanor immigrated to the United States in pursuit of a better life and worked hard to support and uplift his family. He was known for his kind heart, strong values, and deep devotion to those he loved. An avid sports fan, he rarely missed a game, and he especially enjoyed family holiday gatherings, where his warmth and good humor were always felt.
He is survived by his step-son Emmanuel (Christine) Fallaria; step-daughter Bethsaida (Larry) Corpus; brothers Antonio (Susan) Tiongson and Jose (Tessie) Tiongson; sisters Lourdes San Pedro and Elvira (Gerry) Loza; as well as his grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Aida, on January 21, 2021, and his parents.
He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bongiovi Funeral Home, 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ. A viewing and service will take place on Friday, August 1, 2025 from 4 PM – 8 PM.
