
Obituary of Santo A. Cugliari
On June 21, 2025, Santo Anthony Cugliari, 91, passed away in the company of his loved ones.
He was born in S. Onofrio, Calabria, Italy, on November 1, 1933, to his beloved parents, Rosa Defina and Basilio Cugliari.
Santo was employed as an accountant at Somerville Lumber Company, Route 22, Somerville, NJ.
He was a communicant of the Catholic Church of St. Ann and a member of local soccer clubs.
Santo was a devoted husband, a loving father, a dearest grandpa and great-grandpa, a loving brother, and a friend to many. An active man who loved biking, skiing, politics, and spending time with family and friends at the beach in Seaside Heights.
Santo was an avid soccer fan who enjoyed the Cosmos and New York Red Bulls teams. A wonderful and kind human being who was loved by all.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Felicia, son Basil and companion Joseph Smith, daughter Rose and husband Tony Barbieri, grandson Christopher Barbieri, great-grandson Jackson Thomas Barbieri, and two brothers, Joseph and wife Anna Cugliari, Frank Cugliari, and extended family members including many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, sisters Giovanna Figliano and Maria Fusca, and a brother, Michael Cugliari.
Under the care of Bongiovi Funeral Home, 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ (908) 725-1887, services are private in accordance with the desires of the departed.
Entombment at St. Bernard Cemetery Mausoleum, Route 28, Bridgewater, NJ, to take place at a later date.
