Julia E. Ferreyra Obituary

In Loving Memory of Julia Elsa Ferreyra

Sunrise — August 18, 1945

Sunset — May 14, 2025

Daughter of Luis Enrique Ferreyra and Maria Veronica Garcia Ferreyra, Julia was one of seven siblings and held tight to her Panamanian roots, even as she later made New Jersey and Florida her home. She loved warm weather, flavorful food, novelas, and moments by the beach — especially when shared with family.

Julia Elsa Ferreyra was a woman of spirit, strength, and individuality. Julia was strong-willed and independent, often unapologetically herself. Known for her sayings like “Si no se usa, se desgasta”, she had a presence that left an impression and a spirit that stood firm. She believed in dressing well, enjoying life’s pleasures, and following your dreams.

She was the mother of three sons: Marcos J. Seferlis, Atanasio Seferlis, Aristoteles D. Seferlis; and the grandmother of six: Atanasio Seferlis Jr., Aristoteles D. Seferlis, II, Nikka Janai Seferlis, Alexandra I. Seferelis, Adrian Seferlis, David Gabriel.

She is also remembered by her siblings: Jaime Ferreyra, Domitila Ferreyra, Leonor Ferreyra, Ernesto Ferreyra, and Antonio Ferreyra, and is preceded in death by her brother Luis Ferreyra.

Julia enjoyed simple joys — a good meal (especially ensalada de papas con manzana and lengua), time with her brothers, and the warmth of home. While her relationships were complex at times, her love — especially for her children — was clear in the way she showed up when it mattered most. One unforgettable moment was her return from the U.S. to bring her sons to a new chapter — a quiet act of love that spoke louder than words.

She was a woman who didn’t fit a mold — and didn’t try to. In her own way, she gave what she could and left behind memories that are hers alone.

As we celebrate the life of Julia Elsa Ferreyra, though she is no longer with us, the memories live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

May God bless us all as we remember.
