Obituary of Susan L. Thompson

Please share a memory of Susan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Susan L. Thompson, age 77, passed away peacefully at her home on March 15, 2025.

Born on March 8, 1948, in Plainfield, New Jersey, Susan was the daughter of the late Doris and Edward Thompson.  She was also predeceased by her beloved brother, Donald Thompson.

A devoted educator and skilled linguist, Susan spent many years teaching Spanish at the Hillside School in Bridgewater, NJ, where she was actively involved in school activities and deeply valued by her colleagues.  In addition to teaching, she also worked as an interpreter, using her language skills to bridge communication and bring people together with empathy and grace.

Susan will be remembered for her kind and caring nature, her generosity, and her joyful personality.  Though she never married, she was surrounded by love from a large circle of cousins, friends, and former students.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are under the direction of Bongiovi Funeral Home, 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ.  Susan's final resting place will be with her family in Florida.
