So saddened to hear of the sad news of Gary’s passing, we lost touch over the years but I have a lot of wonderful memories of the time we spent together in Hoboken and his last visit to Ireland. To his brothers Paul and John my deepest sympathies. May you rest in peace Gary. Fiona Hennessy Cork, Ireland.

I was saddened to hear of Gary’s passing. Gary was one of my best friends in high school. We were practically inseparable during those years. He taught me how to play bass guitar. We played in some very bad garage bands together. After I went away to college, we would still get together and hang out constantly during the summer and on holidays.
Unfortunately, Gary and I lost touch many years ago: just one of those things that happens when you get busy with career and a family. I have many great memories of the times we had growing up together. It’s good to know he had a successful career and so many good friends.
Rest in peace old friend, you will not be forgotten.

Here's to Gary, on what would be his birthday. There are people who drift into and out of our lives, and with Gary, it was both. We started buddying around after high school. With our different aspirations eventually resulting in us drifting apart, we always remained friends. On the occasions where we would catch up, Gary always had sense of where to find a good time, as everyone knows, and never hesitated to introduce old friends to new ones. One of these introductions was to Kris. She's the woman I married; now a favor for which I can never repay Gary. (Not that he was looking for a wife!).
In the book "Code Talker", Chester Nez tells us that, "The Navajo language has no word for actual death. They use the word 'adin', which...means 'no longer available'". Gary has joined those who are also no longer available. I picture them all having a few laughs; some among themselves and some at the expense of the living. To Paul and John, and on behalf of Kris, our condolences. Your brother was a good guy whose memory will always be with me.

As I sit here tonight, like many previous nights, I try to come to terms that you won’t be here for the future plans we discussed like traveling the country in retirement, deciding where will settle down. Maybe the Cul de Sac around a lake with our friends in Tennessee, northern part of Alabama or just traveling to various countries. Excited you were retired and I was right behind you. You’ve always been considered a part of our family, close enough where my children considered you an uncle (and Aidan your son). I’ll miss you my friend, my brother. Will meet again. The picture I'll post will be when we were in Florida with Gerard and your excitement in having a Pina Colada.

Q: How would you describe Gary to someone who had never met them?
A: Gary was an older TKE-Tau Omega Phi brother at Glassboro(Rowan) State. He was kind, sincere and tough. His charm and laughter came through as soon as you met him. As a fraternity, we get together often and Gary would attend every gathering. We have a yearly camping/canoeing trip held. Gary is the first to sign up. This year he was to attend. We are all heartbroken. I visited him along with a few brothers. It was hard to see him hooked up to so many devices. He gave us that Irish look and smile despite his condition. This year we will honor him at our trip and have his name on our yearly shirts. He will be missed, but his memories will be with us.
Rest in Peace brother(scroll# 205). We'll have a few Guinness's when we meet again.

I am shocked and saddened; New York City will be a poorer place without Gary. This is a phot of Gary and just a few of his friends at an annual memorial/remembrance event. Gary was always there. My condolences to everyone who knew him.

Gary was the kindest soul anyone could ever meet. He had been our number one supporter from the moment we opened our restaurant up until the very end. This place has lost an immense source of joy, compassion & love in a world that needs it more than ever. God rest his soul & he will be missed dearly.
