Concetta Gianni
February 14, 1943 – April 12, 2025

Concetta Gianni was born on February 14, 1943, in a small village in Agrigento, Sicily, to her mother, Maria Coniglio. She passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025, in Basking Ridge, NJ, surrounded by love.

In her teens, Concetta moved to Rome, where she fell in love with the energy of city life. It was there that her sense of adventure blossomed and her lifelong curiosity about the world took root. Years later, she returned to Sicily and reconnected with Concetto Victor Gianni—a childhood friend. They fell in love and married. She bravely traveled to the United States by sea, and together—with their two sons, Fedele and Alex—they built a beautiful life in Raritan, New Jersey, a place that became home and where she planted deep roots.

Family was everything to Concetta. Her greatest joy came from being a devoted wife, mother, and especially a Nonna. Her seven grandchildren—Ava, Mia, Zoe, Luca, Mateo, Tristan, and Emmeline—were the glimmer in her eye. She never missed a chance to proudly say, “I have seven grandchildren,” lighting up every room with her joy. She loved watching her sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren celebrate milestones—always the first to cheer, always the first to celebrate.

Some of Concetta’s happiest moments were spent at the beach. She especially loved Long Beach Island, where she enjoyed long days by the water and meaningful time with family and friends. The community she found there, and the memories she made, remained a lasting source of joy throughout her life.

Whether walking through her neighborhood, traveling to New York City, or exploring someplace new, she was always seeking her next adventure. She had a passion for good food and conversation, loved shopping outings, and took great pride in her home—where she made her signature cavatelli and broccoli like no one else could.

Concetta’s kindness, generosity, and boundless warmth touched everyone who knew her. She had a rare gift for making people feel seen, heard, and loved. Fiercely loyal and endlessly loving, she was the heart of her family and a constant presence in the lives of those she cared for.

She is survived by her loving husband, Concetto Victor Gianni; her sons, Fedele (Michelle) and Alexander (Silvia); her sister-in-law, Graziella Agozzino; her beloved seven grandchildren; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her mother, Maria Coniglio, and her brother, Joseph Agozzino.
