Michael S. Fitzpatrick

Michael Fitzpatrick, 71, died on February 6, 2025.  He was born on February 16, 1953, in Brooklyn, NY to his parents Patricia Valerie (nee Lewis) and Thomas Fitzpatrick.

Michael worked as a heavy machine operator for Public Service Gas, in Summit.  He was a dear husband, beloved father, loving grandpa, and loyal friend.   Michael was a hard worker, kind, caring and generous.  An old soul and a man that enjoyed the simple things in life. He enjoyed starting his day the same way, with a cigarette, a cup of coffee, and a New York Post. Michael never owned a cell phone or computer.  He enjoyed watching Doc Martin on cable TV. 

Michael and Peggy had two children together JonRyan and Jillian Leigh.  Even though he and Peggy divorced, he never stopped loving her.  He loved his children unconditionally; no matter what trouble they might be causing and was a very forgiving dad.  He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

Michael is survived by his son JonRyan Fitzpatrick, daughter Jillian Leigh Fitzpatrick & fiancé Mark Munyan, grandson Sean Michael, former wife Peggy, and sister-in-law Cathy Fitzpatrick and of course his cats Mister Kitty and Kitty Kitty.  He was predeceased by his parents and brother Thomas Fitzpatrick.

Service and viewing will take place on Thursday, February 13, 2025, from 11 AM to 2 PM at Bongiovi Funeral Home, 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ. (908) 725-1887.  Service will begin at 11; officiating will be Rev. Tony Godleski. .
